Framing VUS reanalysis in counseling

Had two families today with 30x whole-genome sequencing (Illumina NovaSeq) and three VUS each; how do you set expectations in pre-test counseling around reclassification timelines and follow-up without turning the session into a stats lecture? Do you promise a 12–18 month reanalysis by default or align it with the lab’s variant curation cycle?

@OP For 30x NovaSeq genomes with multiple VUS, I add one sentence to the consent that reanalysis follows the lab’s curation cycle, typically 12–18 months, and we’ll only reach out if something becomes actionable. Do you note the lab’s cadence in your chart or just link their policy?
