When your stomata betray you

Field note from 6:40 a.m. in Plot B: I told the undergrads we’d catch the C3s yawning, and right on cue Helianthus popped their stomata (porometer gs=0.42) while the CAM Tillandsia stared back like night-shift workers who refuse day talk. Anyone else narrate gas exchange like a soap opera to survive 12 replicates?
