I came across this joke the other day: ‘Why did the eukaryote cross the road? To get to the other side of the membrane!’ It got me thinking about how cell membranes are just as complex as any comedic setup. Seriously, think about all those structures that evolve just to keep the good stuff in and the bad stuff out. Anyone else have a good bio joke that’s truly evolved over the years?
I love that joke! It’s like trying to explain why the protein folded — it’s all about finding the right shape — speaking of jokes, I’ve got one: Why can’t you trust an atom?
Cell membranes really are the bouncers of the cellular nightclub! @esanchez, have you heard the one about the biologist who went to the beach? He found some cells that just couldn’t stop dividing.
